Villa Soluna – Cantoria – Almeria – Spain

Villa Soluna is a delightful detached villa designed and constructed to reflect the traditional style and character of this area of Spain. It is located almost equidistant from the two local towns of Cantoria and Almanzora and is less than a five-minute drive from either.

The villa is situated on a larger-than-average plot and is accessed through a large double set of wrought iron gates that lead into the well-maintained and landscaped gardens. The plot is enclosed by walls and is gated making it very safe for children and animals. The design allows for a variety of different seating and entertaining areas. 

At the South side of the property is a large open garden with a wooden pergola and a heated 7 x 3 m above-ground swimming pool. The pool is completely surrounded by decking and offers incredible mountain views. To the rear of the villa, there is a built-in BBQ, along with an external utility room which houses a water softening unit and a newly installed electric water heater.  From here there is an additional terrace and leading on from this, through gates, there are orange and lemon groves that have automated irrigation.

To the front of the villa, there is a further covered terrace with a fully tiled roof that can be accessed via a spiral staircase. On this roof the current owners have installed 14 solar panels controlled by a mobile application which runs on a 6KW system, saving large amounts on electricity costs.

The villa is accessed via large double traditional wooden front doors which is where the original styling really comes apparent. The living area is an open-plan lounge/ dining room/kitchen design with a central natural stone-clad fireplace. Here is a modern super eco-friendly pellet-burning fire. The property also benefits from double gazed windows throughout with wooden shutters and built-in insect screens. 

The kitchen has solid wood wall and floor units with Formica work surfaces and kickboards. All the necessary appliances have been built in and there is an off-kitchen larder/pantry storage room. For casual dining, there is also a breakfast bar. 

From the main living room, there is a large stone-edged archway that leads into the central hallway providing access to three spacious double bedrooms with contemporary styling. The master bedroom has a good-sized en-suite bathroom with a full-sized bathtub and a fitted glass shower screen. There is also a family shower room which has been recently renovated and finished with quality ceramic tiling.

The entire villa has newly installed air conditioning and heating units.
