There’s nothing that quite matches the feeling of listening to your favourite song live and seeing your favourite artist on stage. Luckily enough, in Spain there are loads of festivals where you can hear those songs that make your life just that bit happier.

We’ve selected some of the best music festivals in Spain in 2019 for you – some in beautiful cities, others on the beach – so you won’t have to stop dancing all summer long!
1. Primavera Sound in Barcelona
Primavera Sound is one of the biggest festivals in Spain and the one that opens the festival season 2019 on the 30th and 31st May and 1st June. This festival is known having world-class artists and at the same time showcasing the bands and soloists who haven’t made a name for themselves yet but who will be topping the charts in a few years’ time.
In 2019, Primavera Sound comes with a line-up full of great artists, including Nas, Erykah Badu, Rosalía, Carly Rae Jepsen, Interpol and Suede. Don’t miss these great concerts and also drop by the smaller stages to discover the bands that will be playing on your Spotify over the next few months.
2. A Summer Story in Madrid
“Every summer has a story and this is yours”. This is how the festival A Summer Story is presented, which will take place on 21nd and 22nd June 2019 and aims to turn Madrid into the capital of electronic music.
To this end, the line-up of A Summer Story includes real heavyweights of the genre such as Carl Cox, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Richie Hawtin and DJ Nano who will hold a special 12-hour session. A Summer Story also offers an exclusive rap stage where you can enjoy sets from Beret, Ayax and Prok, Delaporte and Walls.
3. BBK Live in Bilbao
On the 11th, 12th and 13th July in Monte Cobetas (Kobetamendi), Bilbao BBK Live comes to life as possibly the most important festival in the north of Spain. One of the main attractions is the surroundings: the green mountain is an incredible contrast to 3 full days of celebration and music.
The 2019 edition offers non-stop enjoyment with concerts by the likes of Weezer, Liam Gallagher, Rosalía, Thom Yorke, Vetusta Morla and The Strokes, among others. Don’t think twice about it and take the opportunity to get to know the wonderful city of Bilbao while enjoying the music of BBK Live.
4. Cabo de Plata in Barbate, Cádiz
Just a stone’s throw from Barbate beach, the Cabo de Plata festival can’t be pigeonholed into any single musical style this summer. They have the best mix of rock, pop, rap, funk, trap, reggae and electronica across 3 nights of partying and dancing.
Between 25th, 26th and 27th July, more than 60 artists will pass through its 4 stages, among which the ones that stand out most are Orishas, La Fuga, Nach, Lola Indigo, Don Patricio and La M.O.D.A. Let yourself be carried away by these 3 nights of eclectic music and while you’re there, take a dip in the sea on Barbate beach.
5. Arenal Sound in Burriana, Castellón
Arenal Sound will celebrate its tenth anniversary this summer and its loyal fans know that it will be a special one. The first 50,000 tickets for Arenal Sound 2019 sold out in just 14 hours without any artist having even been announced, which gives you an idea of the passion that this festival inspires in its followers.
This year, Arenal Sound will arrive in Burriana (Castellón) between 30th July and 4th August with Thirty Seconds To Mars, Vetusta Morla, Anitta, La Pegatina, Don Diablo and Martin Garrix, among others. Don’t miss this spectacular 5-day festival held on Burriana beach!
6. Medusa Festival in Cullera, Valencia
The Medusa Festival has been fighting for the last few years to become as famous as its competitors in terms of electronic music festivals, and it will undoubtedly achieve this in 2019, which promises to be the best year yet.
Against the picturesque backdrop of Cullera beach, between 7th and 12th August, Juan Magán, C. Tangana, Oscar Mulero, DJ Nano, Richie Hawtin, DJ Marta and Beret and many more will play on 5 different stages at the Medusa Festival in Valencia.
